17 and Accepted on Foodgawker!!!

Woo Hooo!!
today I was accepted on foodgawker with my:
Rich Cocoa Crinkle Cookies <-- Yesterday's Post

This was my fourth (4th) submission to them, and now they've finally accepted one of them!!
I was going to stop sending in my submissions after the third one I sent in I was hoping for "three strikes you're out" or "third times a charm" either way, I felt like if they didn't accept it, then I would be okay with it and move on. which I was wrong, it still bugged me, and I wanted to try again.


I'm SOO glad I did!!
right after I submitted it last night I had this really good feeling about it, I kept checking and checking to see if they had accepted it, but it was getting late (like 11) so I knew no one had seen it yet and it might be up in the morning, I laid in bed last night like a little kid the night before Christmas, seriously I had that same feeling.

first thing this morning I didn't log into my blog, check my email, or surf the web, I went straight to foodgawker's main page and scrolled a little, BAM there I was *insert scream here* 

when I first heard about foodgawker I didn't really think about submitting anything of mine, because I thought I would never get up there, I mean, come on! the pictures up there are P.E.R.F.E.C.T
over this past year, or even couple of months, my photography has improved, I don't really realize that it has until I compare my old pictures with my new ones.
if you're thinking about submitting a recipe of yours on foodgawker give it a try! the worst they can do is say no, or is it....

decline: lighting/exposure issures
decline: lighting/shadow/exposure issues
decline: composition-too tight

I'm thinking three no's to get to a yes isn't bad, it's pretty good, I'm so proud of myself right now, I'm just smiling at my computer screen cause I can. :D

  2. Congrats Molly! I have never been to Food Gawker's website but I have read lots of bloggers talking about it and never getting anything accepted.

  5. Congrats. I have continued to be rejected, but I will not let them define me. Heehee. My photos have improved so I do understand, but I know people that are excellent photographers and still get declined so I think sometimes someone is in a bad mood.
