Wow.. That's really the only word I can say. (good thing I'm typing).

I'm so thrilled!! My first month of blogging has been very successful, I didn't think I would reach 1,000 views in a month, no way, no how. Yesterday I broke 1,000 views *Squeal*

I just want to send out a HUGE thank you to each and every single one of you!! So.. Thank You. :)

I realize 1,000 page views isn't a lot compared to most bloggers, but it's a ton to me and I appreciate every single one.

I don't just count the views and comments, really I don't. I like sharing my projects with other people and hope that maybe I could inspire someone in some way. I like being able to go through my blog and kinda re-experience the feeling I had when I made certain things.

Views are nice to have though. (Comments are even better). *wink wink*

The major reason I was able to reach 1,000 page views is because I was featured on Carolyns Homework , DIY By Design (Twice) :D, Wicked Awesome Wednesday and  Shine On Fridays. So definitely a huge sincere thank you to them!! :)

Can you feel my excitement?!? I hope so, it's quite nice.

Tomorrow is a fresh new month so I wish you all the best.
Have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day Weekend.

Homemade Cinnamon Coffee Cake

Homemade Coffee Cake
Homemade Cinnamon Coffee Cake

This is a really great coffee cake recipe, I found this recipe in a Taste of Home cookbook some time ago, and I've made it several times since then, this is definitely a favorite around our house.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake Recipe:

1 C Butter
2 3/4 C Sugar (Divided)
4 Eggs
3 C Flour
1 Tsp Baking Soda
1 Tsp Salt
2 C Sour Cream
2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
2 Tbs Cinnamon

Bake at 350 for 53 minutes, the actual recipe says 60-65 minutes but in our oven it would be burnt in that amount of time. The worst thing you could possibly do when baking is to over cook your goods!! that or forget the sugar. :P

1 C Butter, 4 Eggs and 2 C Sugar

2 C Sour Cream, 2 Tsp Vanilla Extract, 3 C Flour, 1 Tsp Baking Soda and 1 Tsp Salt

Creaming Butter

Sugar Falls!
Butter and Sugar Mixed Well

Adding eggs

After Adding 4 Eggs

Adding Flour, Baking Soda and Salt

Adding Sour Cream and Vanilla Extract

Sooo Creamy

3/4 C Sugar and 2 TBS Cinnamon
1st  Layer

Sprinkling The Sugar and Cinnamon Mixture Onto The First Layer

2nd Layer

3rd and Final Layer

Going In The Oven!!

Oooo :)

Yum!! I think what makes this coffee cake have such a great texture is the sour cream. Speaking of texture, DO NOT over bake, it's better to check on your cake and it still not be done, than to check on it and it be over cooked, or even burnt. :(

You can't really smell the coffee cake when it's in the oven, but when it comes out you sure know it, the kitchen smells scrumptious!!

Do you have a favorite flavored coffee cake?

Got To Go!

Remember in my earlier post I had talked about the raccoons scaring our cat Charlie, well we set a few traps in our yard and woke up to this little guy. isn't he sweet?!?

The entire time I was taking pictures of him he was growling and hissing at me, I was afraid I might get some of his saliva on my camera lens, such a feisty guy.

We don't kill any of the animals we catch, this little guy was released away from our property.

DIY Hand Painted Sign WIth Quote

This sign is a great thing to wake up to in the morning, not really the sign but the quote. It's so inspiring, I love it.

DIY Hand Painted Sign With Quote

This sign started out as a longish board I found in our shop

I cut the board with our table saw, then I hand sanded and primed it
I painted the sign green and I stenciled the quote onto the board

After I filled in the stenciled area with paint I hand painted the vine and flowers

And of course I hand painted the year on this baby. I'm sorry I don't have step by step pictures up for you guys to see, the first several photos are taken with my older camera so they're not all that great, the finished sign is taken with the new camera, hurray for new camera!!

This quote is very inspirational to me and was written by Thomas Edison

Do you have a favorite quote you live by?

Blu-Teal-Ful Hand Painted Canvas

Blu-Teal-Ful Hand Painted Canvas

This was such a fun project for me, I didn't really know what I was going to do with the blu-teal-ful paint, and I still don't quite know how to explain what I did, My little inner artist just came out. :P

The reason I painted the 8's red is because 8 is my favorite number and I wanted them to stand out.

I didn't edit any of these pictures (except for my name of course), the reason for the variations in lighting is because I wound up taking these pictures in Three different rooms and a few outside.

1 Stroke Down, 2,000 More To Go.

This canvas took me two days to finish, which isn't a very long since I'm going to have it for the rest of my life.

I don't know about you guys, but I love pictures!! (as if you couldn't tell already) The reason I love pictures so much is because I want you guys to be able to scroll through my post and kinda sorta get the experience that I had when I was making this. If I had just given you one picture of the finished canvas you would see  45 numbers on a canvas with some paint, but since I put so many pictures up of almost each step I hope you guys see what I see, fifteen million little brush strokes on a canvas with a touch of art on it that I didn't know I had. :)
